yeah, deflation is terrible. just look at the computer industry, nobody buys any iphones since they know there will be a better one for the same price next year. if just apple would make more expensive or worse products every year, then the computer industry would boom!

BALONY! deflation is good for the consumer and bad for any business concerned about have profits above last years profits. Big business measures a successful business on how much of a profit it has over last years profits and my friends, by any defintion of the word, is inflation. Greed is inflation folks and those of you that think these despots with a phd beside their names are the “sage” “wise” ones will continue to stay as modern day slaves. I guarantee you inflation does not help the consumer and in fact decreases their purchasing power, but it also provide the obscene fat cats more food than they can ever eat, all the while promoting their education as, GDP or CPI or anything else that diverts attention away from their own greed.

Yeah, I agree that Deflation can really make things worse. I do think that the Fed will not let it happen. What with Bernanke using his helicopter money. I think in the end they will end up creating more inflation than anyone can handle!

Deflation is the one thing that really scares me. With all the debt sloshing around I think it would be a disaster for the US and the world economy.
