All gold ETFs are pretty similar in returns etc. so it shouldn’t impact that much. Go through this article to get a sense on where the market for these funds currently is at:

The unit price is linked to the current price of gold but it isn't exactly the same. It will be quoted on the stock exchange like the price of shares, and when you sell them you get that price.

Gold mutual funds also invest in gold ETFs from their own company, so ultimately you end up owning a gold ETF indirectly. I've done a detailed post on all the ETFs and Kotak and Benchmark looks good. Here is the post link if you are interested.

Hi Sir,

I want to invest in gold. I just wanted to ask you that whether to go for gold equity funds like RELGOLD,... or invest in gold ETFs (Mutual funds). Which one will be more beneficial and any specific funding that you can suggest.

Regards
Rathore

You can try gold ETFs like Benchmark if you have a Demat account and have traded in stocks, if not then you can buy a gold mutual fund like Reliance or Kotak gold MF. There are no silver ETFs or MFs right now.

You can also read my post on best gold ETF to get more info on this topic.
