IFCI Infrastructure bond last date extended till 12th January 2011

in Investments

Arun left a comment on the Infrastructure Bonds Calendar post about the extension of the last date of the IFCI Infrastructure bond, and since a lot of people were asking about this I thought I’d do a mini – post to inform everyone that the last date for these bonds has been extended to 12th January 2011.

So, this is useful information for everyone who is looking to invest in infrastructure bonds, and is fighting deadlines to submit the proof.

Thank you Arun.

This is really a very information you provided us, I have IFCI shares in 2007 when their was just 12 to 13 Rs, but then sold it at the price of 22 and then again bought new shares when they reached all time high 103rs, after that i havent seen price reachin there. Can you suggest me something.

With regards,
Rahul

Hi, need to know if investment in infrastructure bonds is advisable ignoring the tax benefits and what kind of returns have we seen in the past?

Reply

Manshu January 11, 2011 at 8:43 am

No Pallavi, it doesn’t make sense if you don’t need the tax benefit because these bonds are giving interest in the 7 – 8% range, and you can easily top that with a fixed deposit from a bank for a shorter duration.

I have invested in the IDFC bonds . Please tell me when they will issue the bonds?

Reply

Manshu January 29, 2011 at 8:12 am

They have not declared when they’re going to credit your account. The issue is going to close next week, so you’ll probably have to wait another couple of weeks after that.

Rajeev – the link shared by Ravi shows me that the bonds have been allotted to you, and that the advice is ready to be sent, so that’s good news for you. Wait a few days to get the bond and if you applied through Demat then they should already be showing in your demat account.

Here is the link in case you want to see for yourself:

I had applied for IFCI infrastructure series II thru ICICI direct.. Though the registrar(beetalfinancial.com) site mentions that the allotment is done through demat, I’m unable to see it in my ICICI direct site. Any one facing this problem?

Siva

I am able to see the Demat alloted under ‘Savings /FD ‘ section in ICICI direct. But there was no name linked to this and it just shows the number of bonds alloted. BTW, I have got Rs.136 as interest in my ICICI bank with description as ‘IFCI LTD-INFR / A BOND IFCIS2’. what is this for??

Reply

Manshu February 21, 2011 at 4:51 pm

As others have indicated here Siva – this could be interest on your application money that remained with IFCI till the allotment.
